Galway wedding venue, Hotel Meyrick, recently hosted a mock wedding to give brides-to-be the opportunity to experience what their wedding day would be like should they choose Hotel Meyrick as their wedding venue. Having attended the mock wedding held at the Hotel Meyrick, I would highly recommend this wedding hotel to any couple who is searching for a wedding venue.
On arrival at the wedding hotel we immediately felt a touch of class. The decor was tasteful giving both a modern and traditional feel and we were greeted by a friendly and efficient member of staff. Having checked in and being given the keys to our room, the hotel porter parked our car in the hotel car park which meant we did not have to leave the hotel after checking in.
The bedroom was very spacious including the bathroom which had lovely cream and brown rich tiles from the floor up and staff were all very accommodating. I had forgotten to take a bag out of the car and when I went down to the hotel reception to get the keys for the car the receptionist said that they would send a member of staff out to get the bag and deliver it up to my room. Nothing seemed to be an inconvience for the staff who were always available at the other end of the phone.
To begin the proceedings of the mock wedding there was a champagne reception in the lobby. In the corner there was a pianist playing, which was lovely. It gave everyone an opportunity to meet the bride and groom and chat to other wedding guests. The staff continuously moved around the room making sure that no one’s glass went empty. The main function room were the wedding meal was to be served was quite spacious and had a balcony. There was beautiful chandeliers hanging from the ceiling and long mirrors around the walls.
We were served with a seafood platter followed by carrot and orange soup. I have to say it was something different from melon and vegetable soup and we really enjoyed it. For our main course we had roast beef, vegetables and champ, followed by a trio of desserts. The food was delicious and the staff were very quick at serving it. What was particularly good was the fact that there was no waiting around for the gravy jug to be brought to the table.
When the meal and speeches were over the room was transformed very quickly leaving a larger space for the dance floor were all the guests partied the night away.
Overall my experience of Hotel Meyrick was a very positive one. I thought the ballroom were the dinner and party was held was bright, clean and very well laid out. The ballroom can cater for up to 300 wedding guests. The food was excellent and the staff could not help you enough.
I would definitely recommend this wedding hotel to any couple who are getting married.
