Volcano has caused upset for many of Northern Ireland’s wedding couples

Many wedding plans have been interrupted by the Icelandic volcano which has resulted in travel chaos across Europe.

One couple who are due to get married this Saturday is uncertain if all of their family and friends are going to be able to make their wedding.  The sister of the bride-to-be (the bridesmaid) who lives in Australia has only able to get as far as Bangkok at the moment and the grooms family who is from England are left patiently waiting to see if they can travel over to Northern Ireland for the wedding.

The couple whose wedding should have had 90 guests was whittled down to a more intimate number after around 25 wedding guests were left stranded at airports across Europe.  The couple praised the managers of the Malone Lodge Hotel in Belfast were the wedding reception was held for not charging them for any of the cancelled meals. The couple was reported to have a fantastic day despite the hassle
