Wedding fayres are an excellent opportunity to meet wedding suppliers face to face and to ask questions. Throughout Northern Ireland and Ireland the majority of wedding shows are held between the months of January-March and September & October. Traditionally wedding shows are held on a Sunday however some take place on Saturdays or on an evening during the week.
Working in the wedding industry has resulted in my attendance at many wedding shows throughout Ireland. Shows I have attended include, Stormont Hotel Belfast, Everglades Hotel Derry, Ballygally Castle Larne, An Grainnan Hotel, Walshs Hotel, Redcastle Hotel, Wedding Extravaganza, Wedding Journal Show, Ramada Hotel, The Elk, Belfast Castle, Clandeboye Lodge Bangor, Holiday Inn, Millennium Forum, Clanree Hotel Letterkenny, Glenavon Hotel Cookstown, Hilton Belfast, Hilton Templepatrick, Corrick House and Harvey’s point
The largest wedding show in Northern Ireland is undoubtedly the Wedding Journal Show at the Kingshall Belfast. As a bride-to-be I visited the show last Saturday. With over 300 wedding suppliers exhibiting at the show there is definitely a lot for a couple to take in. We used the wedding show merely as a way to get ideas for our wedding and to see the latest fashion in bridalwear and groomswear on the bridal catwalk show. The wedding fayre also proved to be a good way to compare prices of suppliers within the wedding industry. With everything under one roof from bridal gowns to photographers, chocolate fountains to wedding accessories, wedding videographers to wedding rings, plus much much more it allows couples to view everything they need from start to finish
So how beneficial are wedding shows? In my opinion I do believe it is useful for couples to attend at least one wedding show if for nothing more than an exploratory day out. Nowadays more and more couples use the internet to research weddings and search for reputable wedding suppliers and search for the best value for money. Websites enable couples to sit down together in the comfort of their own home and view wedding venues, menus, wedding albums, honeymoon locations plus much more.
