Weddings are not just a costly event for the couple getting married!

Weddings are not just a costly event for the couple getting married!

When we receive a wedding invite do we actually consider who much it will cost us to attend?

One of our brides talked us through what she recently spent attending another friends wedding.  She estimated that it cost her £585

Most wedding invites also result in a hen party invite.  Many brides plan their hen night over one day and night however many make it a weekend event.  More and more brides introduce a theme to their hen night or get T-shirts printed.

Hen Party

-          Transport £25

-          One nights Accommodation £40

-          Outfits (themed party night) £15

-          Drink £30

-          Activities £20

-          Admission to nightclubs £10

Total - £140

Many hen and stag parties are now held in locations like Newcastle, Liverpool and Spain, therefore would have an additional cost for flights.

Wedding Gift - £100

Wedding Accommodation - £120

Transport to the wedding

Drink at wedding £30

Getting ready for the big day

-          Dress £65

-          Shoes £25

-          Bag £10

-          Accessories £30

-          Hair Appointment £20

-          Beauty Treatments – Nails, Tan, Makeup £45

Think about how many weddings you have attended this year.

Tips on how to save money!

 -          Borrow a dress from one of yours friend.  If you have friends who share the same dress size as you, then why not borrow a dress.  You can return the favour by lending them one of yours in return.  This way you don’t have to wear the same dress twice.

-          If any of your friends or family members are creative when it come to hair then why not let them experiment with yours.  Many girls can now put curls in their own hair with GHDs

-          Apply your own tan.

-          If the hen night is for 2 nights then how about only attending one of the nights.

-          If you are not a close friend of the brides then politely decline your invite to the hen party
