Is there any best time to get engaged?

by Editor@BookOurWedding 23. July 2009 18:17
Of course there is.  When you know that she/he is the one for you.

There is no hard and fast rules that you need to be dating for x number of years, many couples get engaged after a few months in a relationship, some a year later, and others decide to wait for a number of years.

A proposal is one of those things that will be discussed in years to come, maybe not always for the right reason, so make sure that you put every effort into making yours one that is memorable for all the right reasons.

It is very interesting to listen to couples speak about their proposals.

‘I opened my Christmas card which read ‘to my fiancé, and then he got down on one knee’

‘While on holidays we went to a small island and he proposed on the beach’

‘When shopping one day we walked past a jewellers and he said lets go in and pick you a ring’

What are ladies expectations when it comes to getting engaged?

Do they expect the man to get down on one knee?

Do they take it for granted that the man should propose?

Should the man pick the ring?

Should the man ask for the father’s permission?

Share your thoughts with us.  How did your partner propose?  Or if you are still waiting on your proposal tell us how you would like it to happen.

Some couples wait for a special occasion to get engaged, i.e. Valentines, Christmas, New Year and Anniversaries, others pick very spontaneous moments.
