Bookourwedding.com was delighted to be invited to the launch of The Westport Plaza & The Castlecourt Hotels new wedding software, Moposa. The Westport Plaza & Castlecourt hotel are the first hotels in Ireland to have this unique and valuable piece of software which allows wedding couples to manage their entire wedding online. What’s more, the software is provided complimentary to the Brides & Grooms of both hotels.
The online wedding software enables couples to create a unique wedding experience for themselves and their guests and save money in the process. The wedding software will allow them to personally plan every last detail of their wedding- from managing budgets, to sending invitations to coordinating seating arrangements!
The launch took place on Friday 12th June at 8.30pm in the Ashleigh Suite of The Castlecourt Hotel. The Ashleigh Suite is one of two function suites within the Hotel. This suite provides an intimate setting and can cater for up to 150 guests. The beautifully designed Dome suite can then cater for larger numbers of up to 500 guests. On arrival we enjoyed a champagne & strawberry reception, the perfect start to a weekend away.
Anne Corcoran the manageress of the hotel began the launch by thanking everyone for attending. Present were many couples who had chosen The Castlecourt hotel as their wedding venue and who were eager to hear about the latest addition to the fantastic wedding package at the hotel. Brides and grooms-to-be were visibly impressed.
Next up to speak was Vincent. Vincent started with the hotel over 24 years ago and also held his wedding reception in the hotel some 20 years ago.
Vincent’s message to the couples was that The Castlecourt Hotel was proud to be the leading wedding venue in the West of Ireland having over 35 years of experience. He claimed ‘We lead, and others follow’ He told couples that the main focus of the hotel was to provide ‘Quality’ and ‘Value for Money’.
As a result they are offering couples 2009 prices for 2010 weddings. They have also reduced wine prices, wine corkage, and accommodation rates to help couples overcome the current credit crunch. He spoke of how the management of this family run hotel had recently invested 8 million into the hotel and had done so with the customer in mind.
Having stayed in the hotel for two nights we were able to experience the excellent cuisine, service and ambiance of the hotel.
On the Saturday evening we enjoyed a three course meal in the Orchard Restaurant. The hotel also serves food in the Courtyard Bistro which looks out into the Courtyard area of the hotel. Outdoor seating is also provided.
On the Saturday we had decided to climb Croagh Patrick which is located 5 miles from the hotel (www.croagh-patrick.com). For any of you who have climbed the mountain you will appreciate how great it was to relax in the hotel sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi on return. It took us one hour twenty minutes to climb Croagh Patrick and one hour thirty to descend.
The hotel also has a Gym, Swimming Pool, Hair Salon and Spa (Spa Sula). The Spa had some great offers available. A current offer available is when you purchase a treatment you can get a second for 25 euros. This also includes access to the Thermal Suite which features an outdoor heated rock pool, foot spas, salt grotto, an ice fountain, plus much more.
Before heading to Croagh Patrick we enjoyed breakfast at the hotel. Breakfast was served to the table however there was also an array of cereals, fruits, breads, pastries and juices served buffet style. On the Saturday morning I decided to try out the Irish breakfast and then on the Sunday morning I choose French Toast drizzled with maple syrup. I was delighted to see that the hotel served breakfast until 11am on the Sunday which meant we were able to enjoy a lye in.
The hotel is centrally located on Castlebar Street and is within easy walking distance to all parts of the town. You will be spoilt for choice with the number of bars and restaurants, however to be fair we didn’t venture to far from the hotel as it had everything we needed.
Prices for weddings in the Castlecourt Hotel start at 47.50 Euros per person and are based on a 6 course meal. The Castlecourt Hotel also offers a 10% discount on meal total for weddings booked mid-week, Mondays-Thursdays. This offer does however exclude bank holidays and December 26th – January 1st. Wine prices start at 19 euros per bottle or 11 euros for corkage.
Within the wedding package wedding guests are offered a complimentary whiskey, sherry, tea/coffee and soft drinks reception on arrival. Also special bed and breakfast rates are available for wedding guests and the bride and groom also get discount in Spa Sula up to 3months before the wedding day. The hotel has a selection of beautifully appointed suites available to host your wedding ceremony.
The Castlecourt Hotel is definitely a very popular spot for all concerned. On both nights Petie Joe’s bar was buzzing with people with live bands playing nightly.
If you are looking for a wedding venue, a well-earned or relaxing break then I would have no hesitation in recommending The Castlecourt Hotel, Westport, Co Mayo.
